Search Resumes For Body In Kerry
The search for the body of a West African man in the waters off the Co Kerry coast has resumed this Thursday morning.
It is believed Stephen Godson-Ukiwu took his own life by jumping from the cliffs at Ballybunion only hours after his partner was found strangled at their home.
Mr Godson-Ukiwu had contacted the emergency services only hours previously about his wife.
It also emerged on Thursday morning that a specialist garda team spent six hours negotiating with Stephen Godson-Ukiwo at cliffs in Ballybunion on Tuesday.
Gardai in the Tralee revealed on Wednesday they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a woman in County Kerry.
The woman has been informally identified as 24-year-old Kataryzna Bartowiak, a Polish national. Her body was found in an upstairs room of the house at 3pm on Tuesday.
A two-year-old boy in the same premises as the woman's body and was taken into care by the Health Service Executive (HSE).
Gardaí investigating the death said that a search was under way in the sea at Ballybunion for the woman's partner, and it is understood the partner may have committed suicide from the cliffs at the scene.
Stephen Goodson-Ukiwo, aged in his 30s, is originally from the West African republic of Benin.
The State Pathologist’s office has been informed and the Technical Bureau has also been notified. The body remains at the scene and the scene is currently preserved.
Gardai are appealling to any persons who were in the Deerpark Estate in the last 24 Hours to contact Gardai in Tralee at 066.7102300 or the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Investigation Launched After Body Found In Carlow
The body of a woman has been found in a house in Carlow. Gardaí say that the body of a 37-year-old woman was discovered at a house in the Craigcullen area of Carlow at about 21:45 on Sunday. The body remains at the scene to allow for a forensic examination. The identity of the woman has not yet been released.

A man has been jailed for life for killing Irish woman Siobhan Kelly who lay dead in her London flat undiscovered for three weeks after he beat her to death. Stephen Foad, 42, denied murdering Miss Kelly, but three days into the trial he changed his plea. He was given a minimum term of 13 years.
