Garda forensic experts are currently investigating the site of a fire which destroyed a timber warehouse in the outskirts of Cork city. The Protim warehouse, in Little Island, sells specialist products for treating and preserving timber.

Cathedral Restoration To Create One Hundred Jobs
The restoration of St Mel's Cathedral in Longford, which was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day in 2009, will create over 100 construction jobs. Contract documents for the rebuilding project will be formally signed on Monday morning by the Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois, Colm O'Reilly.

'Mummified' Cork Man Found
The body of a Cork man who lived alone has been found in his home partially "mummified" after remaining undiscovered for five weeks. David Barry's is assumed to have died on the bed of his house of natural causes, with all the windows and doors closed and locked and the electric heating system still on.
