Boy With 'Bionic Ear' Is Showing Signs Of Improvement
Three-year-old Calum Geary, who was born deaf, is showing the first signs of hearing after he was fitted with a 'bionic ear'.
Calum from Ballyhooly in Cork had implants inserted in his brain which were attached to a box in his ear, in a complex operation in Manchester earlier this year.
His father Andrew told RTÉ's Morning Ireland: "It's been a slow process with regards sound being understood by Calum, but we've seen some improvements over the last few weeks."
