Man Further Remanded Over Dublin Apartment Fire
A 29-year-old man charged with torching the home of his ex-girlfriend in Dublin last weekend has been remanded in custody for a further two weeks.
Last Sunday night several occupants of the house on the South Circular Road were rescued by garda using a ladder.
The day after the fire garda arrested Vladimirs Li, a kitchen porter originally from Lativa, on suspicion of having set the fire.
On Tuesday morning, he was brought before Dublin District Court charged with arson in connection with the incident.
He was refused bail on Tuesday and appeared again yesterday at Cloverhill District Court. Judge Gráinne Malone further remanded Mr Li, who has not yet indicated how he will plead, in custody to appear again at the same court on January 31 next.

Woman Remanded Over Dublin Murder
A 36-year-old woman has been remanded in custody at Dublin District Court, charged with the murder of her husband at a house in Tallaght at the weekend. Paul Byrne, 48, was found at a house at Páirc Glenn Trasna in Aylesbury, shortly before 7:30pm on Friday. He had suffered a fatal stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Halloween Fire Safety Campaign Launched
Dublin Fire Brigade's Halloween Safety Campaign, 'Be Safe Been Seen' has been launched at Dublin Fire HQ by tArdmhéara Críona Ní Dhálaigh. The Fire Brigade will work with Dublin Bus, An Garda Siochana and the DSPCA in an effort to inform young people about the dangers of illegal bonfires and fireworks.
