Fine Gael Waterford Deputy, Paudie Coffey, has said news that FeedHenry has announced an expansion of 100 jobs is a further boost to Waterford city, with a number of these jobs also going to the facility in Dublin.

Deputy Coffey said this announcement follows on from other significant announcements in recent weeks, all of which underpin the quality and employability of the labour force in Waterford.

"FeedHenry provides next generation, cloud-based mobile enterprise application solutions that simplify the development, deployment and management of mobile apps for businesses. The FeedHenry platform offers IT departments the ability to create, control, measure, adapt and future-proof their mobile business strategies for employees, partners and customers in one place, increasing productivity, connectivity and engagement.

"Recruitment will begin immediately with positions in Waterford open for software engineers, project managers and business analysts and will bring employment levels in the company to 140 over the next 24 months. FeedHenry was originally a research and development project established in the Telecommunications Software and Systems Group (TSSG) in WIT and this should encourage all businesses at the facility about how best to grow and expand their business in a difficult macro-economic environment.

"Over the last number of weeks we have seen almost 2,500 jobs announced in Waterford and the South East region, outlining the fact that the area is, without question, the focus of external and internal investors at this moment in time. This is testament to the quality of the workforce and what it can offer different sectors and different employers."
