Taoiseach Announces 400 News Jobs

A total of 400 new jobs are to be created in Dublin, Cork and Galway over the next three years, it has been revealed.

The Taoiseach and the Minister for Jobs made the announcement at an IDA event taking place at the Web Summit in Dublin.

The jobs will be created by a number of firms from America and across Europe, in a range of sectors including software development, telecoms, internet and social media.

The investments will be supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.

400 New jobs For Dublin In Symantec Expansion
Some 400 jobs are to be created in Dublin by internet security company Symantec, who are establishing a new European customer management centre at its current site in Blanchardstown. Half of the jobs are to be created now, with a further 200 over the next two years.

400 New Jobs For Limerick In 'Near Future'
UP to 400 jobs are to be created in Limerick, Finance Minister Michael Noonan has announced. He said the new positions are in the final stages of negotiations but would not elaborate on what industry they’re in. “I can tell you it is true and it is at the final stages of negotiation and it will be a big boost for Limerick,” Mr Noonan said.

25 New Jobs Announced In Waterford
US-based transit software company, RouteMatch, is to create 25 new jobs with the expansion of its Research and Development (R&D) team in Waterford. The transit software company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and first established an R&D team in Waterford in 2015 to focus on the creation of the company's RMPay payment solutions technology.

Tyco To Open New Headquarters In Cork
IDA Ireland has welcomed the announcement that Tyco is to open its new headquarters on Albert Quay in Cork. Martin Shanahan, CEO at IDA Ireland said: "In January 2014, we worked with Tyco on their plans for a global services centre housing 500 people in Cork.

105 Jobs Created In Canadian Software Firm Expansion
105 jobs are being created through the expansion of Canadian Software Company OpenText's Global Customer Support Centre in Cork. The investment is being supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
