Children's Minister Urged To Take 'Immediate Action' Over Closures
The Children's Minister, James Reilly, has been urged to take immediate action on the closure of the West Clare Early Years Centres.
Making the call, Sinn Féin leader, Gerry Adams, said: "Four hundred families have been left without childcare services since Monday morning and 53 jobs have been lost as a result of the closures in Kilrush, Kilkee, Lissycasey, Kilmihil and Kildysart.
"Disgracefully, the workers at these facilities were informed of this by text yesterday. This is no way to conduct business.
"I am calling on the Minister for Children to intervene immediately in this situation to save these jobs and to restore the badly needed childcare facilities in west Clare."
