Witness Appeal After Serious R169 Crash Between Dunleer And Collon, Co. Louth
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a truck and a car on the R169 between Dunleer and Collon, Co. Louth, at approximately 2.45pm today, Tuesday 11 August 2026.
The male driver of the truck was uninjured. The male driver of the car, who is in his 70s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Anyone who travelled on the R169 between 2.00pm and 2.45pm today and who may have witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam or other camera footage, is asked to come forward.
Information can be provided to Ardee Garda Station on 041 685 3222, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

Renewed Appeal Over Murder Of Taxi Driver
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of taxi driver Martin Mulligan. Mr Mulligan (53) was stabbed to death on 28 September following an altercation in Dundalk in Co Louth. It is believed the altercation began over an unpaid taxi fare.

An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a fatal traffic collision in Galway. Gardaí at Tuam have launched the appeal as part of an ongoing investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R362 at Lissyconnor, which is the main Dunmore to Glenamaddy Road.

Missing Cork Girl Believed To Be In Belfast
The PSNI is working with Gardai after a girl who went missing from Cork is believed to have travelled to Belfast. Leigh Arundel, 15, may be with an older male according to the police. Leigh went missing from her home on 05 September. She has a tattoo with the name 'Jimmy' on her left hand.

Man Killed In Co Mayo Crash
A man has been killed in a crash in Co Mayo. The incident happened shortly before 6pm on Tuesday at Newpark in Swinford when a car left the road. The 64-year-old male driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash while a female passenger received minor injuries.

A 21-year-old male driver was killed when the car he was driving was collided with another car at 8.30pm on Monday, 09 October. A male passenger in the vehicle, also aged 21, received minor injuries.
