€1 Million Worth Of Cocaine Seized At Cork Airport In Joint Garda And Customs Operation
Revenue Customs officers, assisted by An Garda Síochána's Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit, stopped and searched a man at Cork Airport on the morning of Monday, 31 August 2026.
A number of packages containing cocaine were recovered during the operation, with an estimated street value of €1 million.
The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in Cork.
The seized substances have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
He has since been charged in connection with the seizure and is due to appear before Cork District Court on the morning of Wednesday, 2 September 2026.
Investigations are ongoing.

Man Held Over Airport Drugs Seizure
A 30-year-old man has been arrested after customs officers at Dublin Airport seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €70,000 on Thursday. It is understood that the man, reported to be Polish, had arrived on a flight from Brussels. He was taken to Santry Garda station.

It is understood that there has been strong interest in the building, some of which were only vacated recently, with others sitting unused for decades.
