Tuam Home Targeted With Nazi Slogans
A Galway home has been vandalised with Nazi slogans, symbols and graffiti because of the householder’s religion.
Herb Meyer, originally from Italy, divides his time between his London home and his residence in Tuam on the Dublin Road with his native Tuam wife.
Mr Meyer woke on Tuesday to a house covered in Nazi slogans, such as "Go Home Jew", and spray-painted swastikas on his boundary walls and windows.
Mr Meyer said he didn't know how he culprits were even aware of his religion and that he was deeply worried by the attack.
He said: "We had made the decision to move back to England long before these attacks but they have certainly tainted our remaining time in Tuam, which up until now has been a very happy period.
"Now I'm afraid to leave as I believe whoever has done this will come back to torch the house."
The vandalism is the third attack on Mr Meyer's property in recent months with his car being targeted in two separate arson attacks.
Mr Warren told this month's meeting of Tuam Town Council about the attack and supported a motion urging the gardai to examine CCTV footage from cameras in the area to try to identify the culprits.

Man Injured In Gun Attack
A man, 21, has been shot in Dublin in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The attack happened at Slieve Bloom Park in Driminagh at around 5.10am. The man is being treated for injuries to his leg at St James' Hospital. Gardai are appealing to witnesses to contact them.

Man Injured In Dublin Attack
A man has been injured in a serious attack in Dublin. It happened in Kearn's Place at around 2am this morning. The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was slashed across the face. He is currently at St James's Hospital, where his injuries are being described as "superficial".

A reward of €10,000 has been offered in a bid to catch the man who is believed to be behind three recent attacks on women in Athlone. Three women have been attacked in the area in the past eight weeks at Bonavalley Bridge in Athlone, near the Institute of Technology. The latest attack happened between 10pm and 11pm on Wednesday night.

"Significant quantities" of human remains have been discovered in a large underground structure at the former mother-and-baby home in Tuam, Co Galway. Surveys of the site were carried out the Mother And Baby Homes Commission of Investigation in October 2015, identifying two underground anomalies worthy of further investigation.
